How can I HELP WITH THE EVENT?

This is a BIG EVENT and the fourth annual for Rolling Meadows. We expect to fill the neighborhood with nearly 2000 luminaries, and we'd love some help!

If you would like to assist with prepping kits, setting up/lighting the luminaries, help make cookies or serve cocoa - let us know using the contact form!

Is this event sponsored by the HOA?

No. The Rolling Meadows Homeowners Association is in no way involved in this event. The event planning, coordination, and ideas are those of a homeowner who enjoys living in Rolling Meadows and really loves Christmas.

Wish our neighborhood held other events? Express your interest during our next HOA meeting.

WHAT'S does my $10 donation provide?

Your $10 donation goes towards the purchase of paper bags, battery operated candles, and pre-bagged sand to line the street on the perimeter of your property.

You will not need to pick up your luminary kit, our volunteers will set up all luminaries throughout the neighborhood.

how do i make my $10 donation?

We will accept monetary donations up until the day before the event. You can click the "Donate" button below to pay via PayPal - you don't need a PayPal account, simply choose the Debit or Credit Card button on the page.

If funds collected extend beyond the cost of materials the funds will be reserved for the following year's event.

 What if it rains?

Event coordinators will update this website In the case of a weather delay. Updates will also be posted on the neighborhood Facebook page.

WHO CLEANS UP?

Our crew will collect all bags bright and early the following morning. If you happen to clean up before we reach your home, please SAVE ALL SUPPLIES so the we can recycle and reuse for next year - we'll coordinate a time to pick up these supplies from you.

ARE YOU MAKING A PROFIT FROM THIS EVENT?

Profits will be retained for the following year's event. 

Supplies will be purchased based on the estimated linear feet of the sidewalk (excluding driveways) within the neighborhood with a small margin of overage. Price per donation was determined using a 56% participation rate with 135 total homes invited to partake. If the purchase of luminary kits creates a profit it will be retained for the next year's event.
